Under the musical direction of international vocal harmony specialist Vicki Dwyer, Sydney Harmony is a well established men's a cappella chorus of 40+ singers aged between 17 and 76. Sydney Harmony performs Barbershop arrangements from all corners of the globe. We are part of a thriving, international community of some 35,000 Barbershop singers in countries including Australia, USA, Great Britain, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Sweden, Finland, Germany and others, We are committed to excellence through regular rehearsals, workshops and competitons. We enjoy showing what we have acheived at the biennial National Barbershop choral conventions and annual eisteddfods such as the Open Choirs Section of the McDonald's Performing Arts Challenge. In September 2011, we will compete at the 11th AAMBS Convention and the 6th PanPacific Convention in Brisbane against choruses from Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and Japan. Our wide musical repertoire includes Peter Allen's I Still Call Australia Home, Bob Troup's rhythm & blues standard Route 66, Randy Newman's When She Loved Me, Freddy Mercury's classic Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Marc Shaiman & Ramsey McLean's A Wink and a Smile.
