Sydney Harmony is the leading men’s barbershop chorus in NSW. Since 2006 we have been privileged to have one of the country's foremost vocal harmony educators, Vicki Dwyer
, as our musical director.
Vicki has led the chorus through numerous performances and in many successful medal winning contests around the country and overseas. Contests include the Barbershop Harmony Australia
National Conventions in Sydney, Hobart, Brisbane & Perth, the 2008 Pan Pacific Harmony Convention in Hawaii and most recently, in the 2014 Pan Pacific Harmony Convention held in Wellington, New Zealand where the chorus won the Small Chorus Award.
Sydney Harmony was formed in May 1999 from the merger of two of Sydney’s most successful singing groups, Broadway and Harbour City Harmony. It is a now a well established successful men’s chorus that specialises in barbershop style
four part vocal harmony.
Along with singing in contests, Sydney Harmony also performs for community and corporate events, fund raising shows and in concerts as the main or supporting act. For example, one of our quartets
recently appeared on national television in support of Movember fund raising. We delight audiences with our diverse repertoire which is delivered with the passion and enjoyment experienced by each performer.
Sydney Harmony is a spirited group of men working towards a common goal of musical excellence to thrill and charm audiences. The chorus attracts members from the complete range of ages, backgrounds and employment: from twenty-year-old university students, to business professionals, to men in retirement.
Our members come from all areas of Sydney to enjoy this exciting hobby. It provides them with new musical challenges no matter what their level of accomplishment is. The chorus constantly grows musically and artistically and its competitive and community achievements bear testament to the commitment and effort of its members.
We are always looking for men to join us. If you are interested in singing with us, attend one of our rehearsals
to see if it's for you.
